FerretWare was officially founded in 1991 and debuted at the Ferret Expo West ferret show held in Reno, Nevada in March 1992. Due to the extensive promotion provided by FerretWare, many Californians made the trek to Reno to enjoy their first ferret show. Since then, FerretWare has appeared at many pet-related events, promoting legalization and educating the public. Other activities sponsored by FerretWare include printing and mailing educational materials, establishing the California Ferret Hotline, taking lost and found reports, creating the ferret-friendly veterinarian database, acting as Membership Director and Rescue Coordinator for CDFA, advising owners on the best products and toys for ferrets, and offering emergency advice and veterinary referrals at all hours of the day or night. To the best of our knowledge, we are the only full-time, ferret-related mail-order business offering so many services—right in the heart of anti-ferret California! |
